These Terms govern your use of YT Finance (the “Platform”). By creating a lender workspace or applying for a loan through the Platform, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Who we are — and what we are not
YT Finance provides software that lenders licensed in Nigeria use to onboard borrowers, configure loan products, decision applications and disburse funds. YT Finance is not a lender, a deposit-taking institution, a money transmitter or a financial advisor. Every loan on the Platform is offered by an independent third-party lender. The lender is solely responsible for the credit decision, the loan terms, and compliance with all consumer-credit obligations.
2. Eligibility
To use the Platform you must be:
- At least 18 years old.
- A Nigerian resident with a valid NIN and BVN.
- The legitimate owner of the bank account you provide.
- Legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
Lenders must additionally hold a valid CAC registration and a current state-issued money lender's licence, and must complete the KYC review before disbursing on the Platform.
3. Your account
- Keep your password and 4-digit transaction PIN secret. Do not share them with anyone — not even YT Finance staff will ever ask for them.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- The information you submit during KYC must be accurate, complete, and up to date. Submitting false information is grounds for immediate termination and possible referral to law enforcement.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised.
4. Loans
Each loan application is a request directed at the specific lender behind the loan product. The lender decides whether to approve, reject or modify the application. If the loan is approved and disbursed:
- The repayment obligation is between you and the lender, governed by the loan agreement displayed at the point of application.
- YT Finance is not party to that contract.
- Repayments are routed through the bank account on file, on the schedule shown in the loan summary.
5. Lender obligations
If you operate a lender workspace you agree to:
- Hold and maintain a valid CAC registration and money lender's licence for every state in which you lend.
- Comply with the Money Lenders Law of your operating state, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act, and all applicable CBN guidelines.
- Charge interest rates that do not constitute usury, and clearly disclose all fees to the borrower before disbursement.
- Treat borrower data in line with the NDPR Act and our Privacy Policy.
- Not pursue debt-collection practices that constitute harassment, public shaming, or unauthorised contact with a borrower's network.
6. Platform fees
YT Finance charges lenders a flat ₦1,500 per loan successfully disbursed. The fee is auto-collected from the lender's wallet at the point of disbursement. Failed or rejected applications cost nothing. There are no setup fees, monthly subscriptions, or fees levied directly on borrowers by YT Finance. We reserve the right to change the fee on 30 days' notice to lenders.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering, or financing of terrorism.
- Impersonate any person, lender or borrower.
- Submit malware, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to circumvent platform security.
- Use the Platform to issue loans to or take loans from entities you control, except where this is explicitly authorised in writing by YT Finance.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms, that fails to maintain valid KYC, or that we reasonably suspect of fraud. Where lawful and practical we will give notice. Termination does not release you from outstanding loan obligations.
9. Limitation of liability
The Platform is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, YT Finance is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of revenue, data or business reputation. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the total fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in this clause excludes liability for fraud or for any liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute will be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, seated in Lagos, with a single arbitrator appointed by the Lagos Court of Arbitration. The language of the arbitration is English.
11. Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-product and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the revised Terms.
